To create a national network where care coordinators can share resources, information, and best practices between dioceses.

Supporting underserved dioceses :

Assist dioceses that lack formal support services by providing them with resources
and information.

Developing care strategies :
To investigate and establish better care practices for aging clergy and investigate care provisions for those in religious orders.

Formalising support networks :
To work towards having a structured committee that provides a professional approach to clergy care.

The 2026 Clergy Care Coordinators’ Conference hosted by the Clergy Care Team from
the Adelaide Archdiocese, was held from 10-13 March in South Australia.

The theme “Together in the Spirit of Care” brought more than 35 professionals from dioceses across Australia and New Zealand with the majority of delegates being clinical nurses.
Occupational therapists and physiotherapists were also represented.

Over the three-day conference, key topics included clergy mental health, understanding
and supporting those living with dementia, and planning for retirement.
