The Clergy Life and Ministry Office provides personal support to active and retired clergy and promotes a culture of health,
wellbeing and ongoing formation for all clergy members within the Archdiocese of Melbourne. The focus is nurturing on spiritual, emotional, physical, and mental health, alongside promoting continuous education and effective, skilled ministerial leadership.
There are three clergy who have Coordinator roles:
Coordinator - Clergy Care | Active (full time)
Coordinator - Clergy Care | Retired (part time)
Coordinator - Ongoing Formation (part time)
The Office is headed by the Coordinator of Clergy Care | Active, who is available to offer advice, network and refer to resources, support and further assistance where required for the clergy of the Archdiocese. All contact with the Coordinators and the Office
are treated with the strictest confidence and care.
The Coordinator of Clergy Care | Retired works with three Clergy Care Workers who are also Registered Nurses – Clergy Care Team (CCT) (funded by the Priests Retirement Foundation) to provide assistance to the approximately 95 formerly active now retired clergy from the Archdiocese of Melbourne.
The Office works collaboratively with the Coordinator of Ongoing Formation to offer:
: Retreats and days of prayer
: Support of supervision groups, mentoring, and workshops
: Seminars, sabbaticals, graduate studies
: Clergy ordained under 10 years ordained, skills workshops and seminars
Spiritual formation
Human formation
Intellectual formation
Pastoral formation
